Meet Lisa

420141_368203239876499_654509922_nComing from a background in dance as a child and teenager, I loved to move my body. My first introduction to yoga (around 14 years ago) was a fusion class – yoga/tai chi/pilates. I had a real feeling of resonance with the movement and relaxation – an escape from a busy corporate career.

After moving to London in my early twenties, I was introduced to my mentor and teacher Aniko Nagy and Zen Essence Yoga. This is where my true journey of self exploration really started! Finding immense peace and connection with the practice of yoga, I continued to study with Aniko for 4 years and began formal studies of Anatomy and Physiology and Holistic Massage deepening my understanding and respect for the human body.

Immersing myself fully in the principles of yoga whilst in the UK, I participated in month long silent meditation retreats. Teachings with Lama Tsultrim Gyamtso in Trulkor Tibetan Yoga and completed my Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training at the world renowned Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica.

Upon returning to Australia 7 years ago, I made my vision, reality and founded your yoga.

What began as offering 6 weekly classes in Sydneys’ Lower North Shore and Northern Beaches, quickly developed into teaching yoga for Crunch Australia and Hard Candy Fitness. For 3 years I taught Corporate Yoga throughout Sydney for companies such as Avon, Lifestyle Working and Sydney HSK Centre. I frequently offered my yoga to the community through Lululemon Athletica.

In 2011, I presented at the first ever Evolve Yoga Festival in Sydney.

A lifetime learner and observer in my own practise, I teach from my experiences. Honestly and openly, with love and individual attention. On my journey I have been inspired by many styles of yoga and have enjoyed practising and learning with gifted yoga, meditation and spiritual teachers throughout the world including; United Kingdom, Costa Rica, United States, Peru and Australia.

Through various life challenges, yoga has been a constant companion and has provided me with ways for managing these experiences; coming out the other end still a fully formed person. I enjoy sharing and helping others to understand their own experiences of life, and through yoga, provide tools for them to be the best version of themselves.

My biggest inspiration and learning thus far has been the journey to motherhood and my beautiful son. I am excited to be welcoming our second baby into the world sometime in July 2017. Since treading this path, I have specialised in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, in 2015 completed introductory training with Birthing from Within and am currently in a 12 month long learning journey with Jane Hardwicke Collings and The School of Shamanic Womancraft.

In late 2014 launched my Postnatal Workshops series for women.

I’m about all things natural and as such live a very conscious, wholefood, holistic lifestyle with my husband and our full of beans toddler. I probably spend too much time making home-made laundry detergent, cooking real food (much to my husbands annoyance who says I ‘hippy-fy” everything!) and learning how to raise a conscious, emotionally intelligent human.

But I am real, flowing with the challenges of daily life just like you – trying to start each day with a smile and not take it all too seriously.
