The 4th Trimester Post Natal Workshop Series

Self care as mothers is so crucial to our well-being,

but yet so often overlooked and deeply undervalued. 

I invite you to join me for a child-free afternoon (or 3) with like minded women, sharing stores, tea and cake whilst learning simple and effective ways to assist you in creating your own unique ‘remedies’ for guilt free self care and nourishment.

The 4th Trimester Post Natal Workshop Series – has been designed to provide support and a sense of community to women.  To share practical and easy to follow information for strengthening and nourishing your physical, mental and emotional well-being as mothers.

The 4th Trimester Post Natal Workshop Series is comprised of 3 intimate workshops (no more than 7 women).

Workshop 1 – Pelvic Floor & Abdominal Health

Workshop 2 – Neck, Shoulders & Upper Back

Workshop 3 – Restoring Energy & Well-being

Held monthly on Sunday afternoons (1:00pm – 4:00pm) in our beautiful Mosman studio, these workshops are suitable for women at any stage following childbirth.

Pelvic Floor & Abdominal Health

What is included in Workshop 1?

We’ll be working with regaining strength and stability in your pelvic floor and abdominal area. The workshop is broken into 2 halves. The first addressing Pelvic Floor and second half, Abdominal Health.

The workshop includes take home material to assist you with continuing your practice. Delicious home-made baked treats, fruit and herbal tea.

You will learn;

  • How the pelvic floor and abdominal area is affected during pregnancy and childbirth
  • The importance of pelvic floor care for pelvic organ health and sexual function
  • The various types of prolapse and pelvic floor safe exercises to help prevent this
  • Correct engagement and relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles 
  • Tips for reducing pelvic floor strain
  • The role of pelvic floor muscles in your core stability
  • How to check for Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation) 
  • About the 4 main muscle groups in your abdominal area 
  • How to safely strengthen and tone your abdominal area
  • Exercises to avoid in the early post natal period

Neck, Shoulders and Upper Back

What is included in Workshop 2?

An afternoon of self care,  we’ll bring back the love to your upper body in this workshop. Extensive changes to the spine, joints, muscles and ligaments happen during Pregnancy. Breast/bottle feeding, soothing and carrying your little ones can put the neck, shoulder and upper back under allot of strain. We will address these areas in detail leaving you feeling confident with effective postures to use at home to release stress and tension.

The workshop includes take home material to assist you with continuing your practice. Delicious home-made baked treats, fruit and herbal tea.

You will learn;

  • Relaxation and breathing techniques
  • Postural tips for use when feeding, lifting, carrying
  • Counterbalance poses for feeding 
  • The importance of caring for your hands and wrists and ways to prevent conditions such as carpel tunnel
  • 14 postures for releasing tension and strengthening your neck, shoulders and upper back
  • 4 restorative poses for deep relaxation and tension release

 Restoring Energy and Wellbeing

What is included in Workshop 3?

Being mum means giving allot! This can leave you feeling drained and lacking energy. The last workshop of this series is all about rejuvenation and relaxation. Helpful and effective ways to restore your energy, increase immunity and leave empowered with ideas for carving some ‘me’ time into your busy days as a mother.

The workshop includes take home material to assist you with continuing your practice. Delicious home-made baked treats, fruit and herbal tea.

You will learn;

  • The art of Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep)
  • 2 very effective breathing practises to quickly refresh and calm your mind
  • Nourishing nutritional tips and ideas for sustained energy
  • Menstruation support and honoring your feminine body
  • Movement and meditation practises to assist energetic flow in the body
  • Seasonal tips for supporting and increasing immunity and general wellbeing

Further Information & Cancellation Policy

Our beautiful eco-studio in Mosman is fully equipped with everything we need, however should you wish to bring your own mat you are more than welcome. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the building (entry via Stanton Lane).

Please allow 10mins to arrive and settle into the space. The intimate nature of these workshops allows you to connect with other like minded women. We ask that you respect the sacred space and confidentiality of others and do not discuss the information shared by others outside of these workshops.

The 4th Trimester Post Natal Workshops are suitable for women at any stage following childbirth.  Information provided will be beneficial for physical and emotional well-being regardless of whether you have birthed  your baby/s 6 weeks, 6 months or years ago.

(Workshops can be booked individually and don’t necessary need to be in order)

  • Less than 5 days notice before workshop commencement date: 50% of workshop fee.

Meet Lisa

A passionate supporter of women’s choices in birth and pre and post natal education, Lisa enjoys helping women to find and own their power in pregnancy, birth and in the new role of mother. She hopes to inspire others to look outside the box, ask plenty of questions and always trust themselves for the right answer.

Practising yoga for more than 15 years, Lisa began formal studies of Anatomy & Physiology, Holistic Massage and Professional Yoga Teacher Training over the course of 3 years in London and Costa Rica. Upon returning to Australia 7 years ago Lisa founded your yoga. Lisa has specialised in Pre and Post Natal yoga training with Bliss Baby Yoga, childbirth mentoring with Birthing from Within and is currently undertaking a 12 month training with Jane Hardwicke Collings and The School of Shamanic Womancraft.

Doting mother to 3 year old James and expecting her second child in July, Lisa created this post natal workshop series after many conversations with mothers, which highlighted the lack of support and education in the post natal period for women. It is her hope that these workshops will empower women to take control of their health, physically, emotionally and mentally following childbirth. Providing valuable tools to use in daily life.
